The Faces of HIV/AIDS Thirty years into the epidemic, two multimedia projects, one national and one local, are working to document those affected touched by HIV/AIDS in time for World AIDS Day; bringing a human face to those living with the virus while working to fight stigma and bring greater awareness about the disease.
ABIA Opens Cell Phone Lot Just in time for the holiday travel season, the City has opened a new cell phone lot at Austin-Berstrom International Airport and ended the 30 minutes of free parking. The City hopes to free up spaces in the garage and Lot A which fill to capacity several times each week.
Music Spotlight: Jay Brannan Texas-born singer-songwriter and actor Jay Brannan returns to Austin for a live performance downtown at Lamberts on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Tickets are available online, but hurry! Tickets are limited and the show sold out last year.
Standing On Ceremony On Monday, November 7, 2011, ZACH Theatre will join theatres worldwide with a special simultaneous one-night-only performance of Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays, a collection of hilarious, emotional and revolutionary new short plays that are sure to provide an incredible night of theatre followed by an interactive Q&A session.
